How Important is mattress fabric protection?

Manufacturer’s warranties are quite explicit about protection of a new mattress, but fabric protection is never mentioned. Two things should be kept in mind when considering these forms of protection.

1. Chemicals are toxic and dangerous to your health and the environment.
2. Although fabric protection does make cleaning easier, over saturating a mattress during cleaning, can result in the growth of mould and bacteria.

Most manufacturer’s warranties suggest that you protect a new mattress with a mattress pad, and we totally agree. A quality mattress pad that’s washed on a regular basis in hot water, is the answer to reducing dust mites, mould, mildew and bacteria in your mattress, without compromise to your health or the environment.
