Warranty information and validation tips

What's Covered

A mattress warranty is your protection against defective workmanship, or product failure. This includes, but is not limited to, defects such as coils or wires that come loose or poke through the fabric, excessive coil or foam compression, splitting of wood frames, squeaks, rattles and noises.

What's not Covered

The following is a general list of what’s NOT covered under most mattress warranties:

  • Comfort issues (unless related to a defect).
  • Body impressions.
  • Normal Wear and Tear.
  • Stained or soiled mattresses.
  • Sagging due to a lack of proper frame support.
  • Bent border wires.
  • Loose threads, pilling or stretching of fabrics.
  • Mattress handles.
  • Accidental Damages.
  • Damage related to obvious abuse (walking, jumping or standing on).
  • Mattresses and foundations missing law labels (do not remove).
  • The cost of transportation to and from your home.
  •                                                    The Warranty Process

  • Manufacturers have their own specific process that must be followed. If you feel you have a warranty issue, Mattress Mattress will help you through the process.
  • Please note: Without a copy of your invoice, you have no warranty. As we regularly purge our computer files in keeping with the Privacy Act, we highly recommend you keep a copy of your original invoice under your mattress, or that you retain the digital copy we offer to email to you at the time of purchase.
  • If your mattress or foundation is found to be defective, the manufacturer reserves the right to repair or replace. If defects or damage cannot be determined by review of digital photos, youmay be asked to send your mattress to the manufacturer for inspection.
  • Should the manufacturer decide to replace a mattress or foundation, there’s no guarantee that the replacement will match your original mattress or foundation.
  • If a mattress or foundation needs to be shipped back to a manufacturer for inspection or repair, it must be wrapped in a sealed, airtight plastic mattress bag.
  • Should you have a warranty issue, your patience is appreciated. Although manufacturers try to resolve service issues quickly, it’s not unusual for the warranty process to take 30 to 60 days from start to finish.

Tips to validating warranty, and increasing mattress life!

As warranties are provided by the manufacturer, final decisions rest with them. To help validate your warranty, as well as to increase mattress comfort life, we’ve compiled the following list of “TIPS”.

  • Keep a copy of your invoice. No invoice! No warranty!
  • Support your mattress based on the manufacturer’s warranty card recommendations.
  • If you accidentally damage your mattress, the warranty could be void. To avoid damage, be careful when moving or bending a mattress. If you accidently bend a border wire, straighten it out as soon as possible.
  • Never remove law or name tag labels. You won’t go to jail if you remove these, but doing so may give your warranty the death sentence, as these labels often identify the production date, the dealer name, warranty codes, and the model number.
  • Never walk or jump on a mattress or foundation. Walking and jumping depressions are easily determined, and will definitely void your warranty.
  • The number one reason for warranty refusal is stains. For this reason we recommend a quality mattress protector. While not a guarantee against staining, quality fabric protectors are removable and washable, and will help keep a mattress fresh, clean, and stain resistant.
  • To increase mattress comfort life, rotate your mattress frequently.
