What can you do if your foundation just won’t fit?

Staircases and hallways in some homes and apartments sometimes limit bending and turning of items during move in. As mattresses can be bent to a degree, these are generally not an issue.

Unfortunately, hard surface foundations have little or no give, and without getting out the chain saw, some of them just can’t negotiate tight staircases and corners. It’s for this reason that all king sets come with split foundations. To allow access through tight spaces, split foundations can also be purchased for queen and double mattresses.
